3. Lemon Concentrate
As discussed earlier, the mind needs a shock or a distraction to get it out of the hiccups state that it is in at the moment. This can be done by eating or drinking something that we do not regularly consume. Something like lemon juice concentrate. The extremely powerful taste of the juice will snap your mind out of hiccupping and focus on cringing your face instead. If you cannot take the taste of lemon, dilute it in half a glass of water and you will be fine as well. Or if you are used to tequila, just add some salt to a slice of lemon and suck it for a while.
2. Cardamom Drink
I know this might not sound appealing to some people but when it comes to getting rid of hiccups, this method works wonders. This spice has a muscle relaxing property that helps the body in getting rid of the annoying sensation. All you have to do is take a glass of warm water and add a teaspoon of powdered cardamom to it. Mix it well and let it rest for some time. Then strain the drink and sip it slowly.

This is one of the most naturalistic methods of getting rid of hiccups. Chamomile is known for its calming properties that ease the occurrence of hiccups and get rid of them completely slowly. All you have to do is make a tea from a teaspoon of the herb by boiling it gently for about 10 minutes in a cup of water. Strain and drink it slowly. Another way to get rid of the hiccups is to use a drop or two of the chamomile oil in a bag and placing that bag over your mouth and breathing slowly till the hiccups stop completely. It should not take more than a few minutes.
