9. Drinking Upside Down
This method seems to be a little too extreme but rest assure, it works wonders. You must be thinking about how one can drink water upside down. It is really quite simple. There is no need for you to stand on your head. All you have to do is hold a glass of water at your waist. Bend over the glass so that you are now facing the other end of the mouth of the glass. Simply put your mouth to the glass and tilt the glass up and drink. This works even better if the water you are drinking is cold water but be careful you do not get water in your nose while attempting this.
8. Stop Breathing
Not in the “forever” sense but this method has been passed down through generations and we will probably do the same with our kids and grandkids. Holding your breath for a few seconds actually does work when it comes to hiccups but it is not as effective or quick as the others. All you need to do is take a deep breath and then hold it in. Do not breathe for about 10 seconds and then slowly release the air out. Repeat this method a few times and you will hiccup-less in no time.
7. Gimme Some Sugar
Who would have thought there would be such a sweet remedy for an ailment? Yes, sugar is a wonder drug when it comes to hiccups. This is usually used for children who find it hard to either hold their breaths or drink upside down. All you need to do is to take a spoonful of sugar and hold it in your mouth. Do not chew it and let the sugar dissolve automatically in about 10 seconds. Then drink a sip of water and the hiccups will be a thing of the past.
